Checking prerequisite subjects for IB students? Use the interstate subject tool

The interstate subjects tool launched earlier this year also includes subjects from the International Baccalaureate (IB). To check which IB subjects meet a specified VCE prerequisite, simply enter the VCE subject and select the IB as the home curriculum.

Score conversions are displayed below the subject list.

  1. Hi 🙂 Not an IB question but interstate conversion…. where a pre-requisite is 30 (English other than EAL) – for Queensland students a Sound (C) is a 25 and a High (B) is a 35 does this mean students must achieve a B in English in order to meet the pre-req (even though this is a higher than the requirement) or do you have some other fine-tuning to determine if they have achieved the equivalent of a 30?
    Many thanks for your advice

    • Hi Alison,

Good question. Unfortunately we don’t receive enough information from other state curriculum bodies to do any fine tuning, so if there is no exact match, students will need to achieve the next grade higher than the required Victorian standard (the B in your example).

      Regards,
